Maegan's Mazin' is a passion that started as a hobby. A hobby that started because Maegan needed something to do with her hands after a surgery, and a bad experience with another lip balm.
Maegan started making her Mazin' Lip Balm in a dark kitchen just to give herself something to do, since she had just had brain surgery. Maegan had a brain aneurysm, had known about the aneurysm for a while, but a car accident made brain surgery a necessity.
During recovery, her doctor told her to do things with her hands, do things that would exercise her brain but not stress her body, or risk losing some of the fine motor dexterity that most of us take for granted. Maegan found her perfect therapy was making her lip balms. At first, she sat in her kitchen chair at the stove, melting the wax, perfecting the mixture, blending her essential oils. She was soon able to move around her kitchen, get out and about, and began passing the Lip Balm out to her family.
Years of making Lip Balm as a hobby, sending it to friends and family, and Maegan finally went into business. Maegan's Mazin' took off in ways she didn't expect, the support and love that was poured into the company before the website was even up inspired her to try her hardest and continue working through the hiccups that a new business always has at the beginning.
